Now why would I want to do that?
Sugarlumps, Sweetypie and Honeybunny are all the petnames I need!

No it would not be offensive to me. This is a silly topic as names do not a religious sect make. There are already plenty of people in the world named Jesus btw. Many are hispanic and of course it's pronouced Hay Suse, but, that's beside the point. They could argue they want to name their pet after them. Frankly there's all too much complaining and griping and reporting about every little detail now in life that doesn't make a hill of beans. Words, names only hurt/bother you if YOU let them. You want to be upset, YOU make yourself upset not Anet. It's quite easy to control your emotions if you really want to. It's also quite easy to overlook anything pertaining to words or names as well. YOU *(OP) made an issue out of this because YOU wanted to. Notice nobody else made the thread before you.

Religion based threads on Forums always end badly.

Well, if religious names were to be blocked, all my characters would need a namechange; all of them borrowed one or two names of Celtic Deities. (Arduinna, Druantia, Gwydion, Lugh....). Not to mention my Pet, Arawn.

Buddhism is one of the biggest religion in Asia, go look it up on wiki. It's pathetic to see there are people out there as brainless as you are, and a shame to see he/she uses GW
But back to the OP. I don't think this is as big as a problem as you are making it to be. Most people don't name their pets after religious names, mainly because they don't even know/they don't give a dam if they do. So just leave the thing as it is right now, as long as no one is complaining, it's all good. Anet cannot fix every little thing, give it a break for once, its New Year[almost]. (Also, even a wounded dog would howl, so certainly a angered man/woman would complain)

For the same reason that they don't block "Juses Cristus"?
Siddhartha Gautama is still the official transliteration.

Buddhism is a religion, stop being idiots.
Continue on with your rather pointless discussion.

I wouldn't consider Buddhism a religion either. It's a way of life instead based on good morals, ethics and elimination of desire so as to avoid unhappiness. It's not filled with magical fairytales and stories so much as it is based on purposeful anecdotes.
Religions are believed, phiolosphies are lived.

Buddhism can be both a religion and a philosophy.
The reason you cannot name your pet Jesus is because Christianity is one of the major religions in the world. They aren't discriminating, they are preventing the majority from becoming oppressive in a game that most ppl go to escape such problems in the world.

As this thread has degenerated into a discussion about whether or not Buddhism is a religion or not, and is completely off-topic now..
